Do I need a boat license?
No! Our pontoon is designed for easy operation, and no boat license is required, only a valid drivers license and hirer’s must be over 18 years of age. We’ll provide a full safety and driving briefing before you set off.
What’s included in the hire?
Your hire includes a fully equipped pontoon boat, safety gear, and a briefing session. If you choose a driver-provided option, we’ll take care of the navigation too!
Can I bring my own food?
Yes! You’re welcome to bring your own food and drinks. Alternatively, we can arrange delicious food platters for you.
Where do I pick up the Pontoon?
Pick-up is at the Summerland Point Boat Ramp, and we’ll meet you right on the jetty. The boat will be ready and waiting for you at your scheduled booking time, and we’ll provide a quick safety briefing before you set off. It’s an easy walk-on experience, so all you need to do is arrive 20 minutes early to complete paperwork and get ready for your adventure on the lake.
How many people can the boat hold?
Our pontoon can hold 10 people for the self-drive option, or 9 people if you choose a driver-provided option.
What happens in bad weather?
If the weather is unsuitable for boating, we will notify you and reschedule your booking. You will have 12 months to re-book and enjoy your day out on the lake.
What happens if I need to cancel?
If you need to cancel your booking, please let us know as soon as possible. We understand plans can change, so we offer the flexibility to reschedule your booking within 12 months of the original date. However, if the booking isn’t used within that 12-month period, no refunds will be provided. We’re here to help you find a new date that works for you!
What happens if I damage the boat?
If any damage occurs to the boat or equipment during the hire, you must notify Lake Escapes immediately. Repairs will be arranged by us, and the costs will be deducted from your bond. If the repair costs exceed the bond, the additional amount will need to be paid by you.
